Self-Acclaimed Dancehall king, Shatta Wale has finally opened up on the snub by BET ahead of this year’s awards.

Black Entertainment Television Awards released the list of nominees to be awarded for their excellence in projecting entertainment. Ghana gained just a single nomination this year with Nigeria and South Africa gaining three nominations each.

The list was met with misunderstanding on several social media in Ghana because most people could not come to terms with the fact that Shatta Wale who has been trending for over four years failed to make the list.

But speaking in an interview, the Dancehall king hitmaker mentioned that he is not bothered when he is been snubbed by awards schemes because he and his team is all about the money and making life better for himself and his family.

“One thing I want people to know is that we are not really bothered about awards. We are focusing on how the business will grow. I believe awards come naturally. I have been in my bedroom and people will call me that I have won awards in Germany.”

“When awards come and I am not included, I am not bothered. There are people who are focused on prestige, prestige is good but I am focusing on making the money. I love prestige too but until it comes, I am focusing on making money,” he said.

He noted that growing up, he did not dream of winning awards but rather drive in flashy cars, build mansions and make his family enjoy the quality of life the rich in society is enjoying and that is what his focus is in the industry.
