Veteran Ghanaian Highlife musician Amandzeba Nat Brew has expressed his support for former President John Dramani Mahama.

In an interview with Okay FM, Amandzeba highlighted his deep respect for Mahama, emphasising that a personal interaction with the former president reveals his potential for success.

“My heart goes out to John Mahama. I respect him a lot because I haven't seen anybody there. If you have that Tete-a-tete interaction with him, you will appreciate why he will succeed,” he stated.

However, Amandzeba also pointed out the numerous challenges Mahama faces, particularly from individuals within the political sphere who may not be fully committed to his vision.

He noted that many people enter politics for their personal gain, which can hinder the leader's efforts to achieve his goals.

“But there are so many inhibitions. The people who would actually carry out the task, if you will appraise them, you will have to see and know where their commitments will be.

“So many people get into politics only for themselves, and they are the ones who would not want the leader to succeed in whatever he wants to do,” he added.

Amandzeba’s comments come as the nation gears up for the December 7, 2024, general elections.

NDC flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama will be competing against Vice-President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, New Force Movement Leader Nana Kwame Bediako, Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen and nine others.
