Ace Broadcaster, Kwame Sefa Kayi, has said it is exasperating to hear people complain about his charges when they are clearly aware of his value in the showbiz circles.

The celebrated radio show host in an interview with Okay FM’s Abeiku Santana, Wednesday said he has come a long way and must be appreciated for working “really hard” to attain his current status.

The “Chairman General” as he is fondly called by his friends, panelists and colleagues revealed that he was one time paid with a bottle of beer for emceeing a show when he first started off.

“I have come very far in the business of emceeing shows; I remember I was paid with a bottle of beer after hosting a show at a place near Golden Tulip Hotel, around 37 that is how low I’ve come from.

“So I hear people are complaining that my charges are high, yes my rates are indeed up now and justifiably so. We love to glorify poverty too much, the Lord has been good to me, and if my profile has gone up I think my charges are reasonable” he said.

Sefa Kayi also had a word for showbiz veterans.

“When you do certain things for long, move on to bigger things and let the younger talents take over.”
