Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Sonnie Badu has recounted a harrowing incident in which his young son tried cutting off his toes in an attempt to emulate him.

In an interview with Hitz FM on September 26, 2024, he opened up about the aftermath of a domestic accident that resulted in the loss of two toes on his right foot.

According to Sonnie Badu, the incident, which occurred in December 2023, has left a profound impact on his family.

He shared how his children were deeply affected by his accident, adding, "My son one time took a knife and tried to cut off his toe; my wife saw him and asked him, 'What are you doing?' he said, 'I want my toes to look like daddy's'. My children don't play with me. They love me."

Reflecting on the accident, Badu expressed his gratitude for surviving what could have been a fatal fall.

"It was just a slip. I could have died. An angel turned me around for me to fall on my shoulder instead of my head. I can't even be ungrateful to God," he said.

Despite the physical and emotional challenges, Sonnie Badu says he remains thankful and continues to inspire many with his resilience and faith.
