My song ‘Gethsemane’ saved someone’s life – Grace Ashley

Renowned gospel musician, Grace ‘Obaa Yaa’ Ashley, has disclosed how her song titled Gethsemane saved a life when someone was about to commit suicide.

In an exclusive interview on Metro FM’s Morning Mix program on Tuesday, the self-acclaimed ‘one woman supporter of the senior national soccer team The Black Stars, and ‘Nyame nye bi da’ hitmaker explained that a person who was about to commit suicide by hanging, watch the video clip of the Gethsemane song and was touched by her actions in the clip which resulted in his repentance.

“I played a certain song, it was a Pentecostal style (Gethsemane ahoyera mpaebo…ohene Pilato anim….) there was a man who nearly committed suicide….he said when he had finished tying the rope to a ceiling and set the chairs, he saw the video on the television and how I was rolling on the ground blended with the “Passion of Christ” movie excerpts and he was touched”. She said.

Grace Ashley also confirmed on the show that she has been enstooled a Development Queen at Suma with Nana Yaa Adepa I as her stool name.
