My term is over – Obuor

National President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice Osei-Kuffour has hinted that he will not seek re-election when his tenure comes to an end next year.

“For now, my term is over,” he stated.

The MUSIGA President, popularly known as Obuor, replaced Diana Hopeson as head of the union of musicians in 2011 after beating Nana Tuffour, Gyedu Blay Ambolley and Willi Roi in elections.

“Next year my tenure of office as MUSIGA president comes to an end,” he said.

“If I would decide to continue or not will depend very much on myself and my family and also the general public.”

The multi-track hitmaker made these known to TV3’s Joseph Owusu Worae in an interview on Wednesday, November 12. Obuor stated he is currently rounding up his tenure since the musicians’ body will go for congress in October, 2015.

“I came to MUSIGA with certain dreams and passions of which I have been able to achieve majority of them,” he said.

The multiple award-winner said his music endeavours are not over, perhaps that explains why the ‘Kokontiba’ hitmaker will not be offering himself up for re-election.
