Reggae and dancehall artiste Epixode is not excited about MzVee’s nomination in the category of Best Dancehall Artiste of the Year for the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The musician in an interview with www.ghanaweb.com boldly said MzVee’s nomination as Dancehall Artiste of the Year was a wrong move by Charterhouse as she does not deserve it.
According to him, the Lynx Entertainment artiste should not have been named among the dancehall artistes in the group because she does not qualify and does nothing related to reggae and dancehall.
‘’They’ve all worked hard but I’ll give it to Ebony. I might change my mind and give it to Stonebwoy, Shattawale but not Mzvee. No disrespect to MzVee but is she a dancehall artiste?” he stressed.
“I know Ebony did not do much reggae dancehall songs but she defended dancehall which was alive.Stonebwoy has put reggae dancehall worldwide, Shatta Wale has done same. So what one thing can you say MzVee has done to qualify for a reggae artiste of the year?”
“I don’t mind if her songs are nominated as reggae dancehall song of the year but not reggae dancehall artiste. Why would you put MzVee there and leave Rocky Dawuni, Ras Kuuku or Rudebwoy Ranking, Jupiter or even myself. These are people who have solely decided not to do anything else apart from reggae dancehall,’’ he posited.
MzVee was nominated for the dancehall artiste of the year with Ebony, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
The 2018 Ghana Music Awards is slated for April 14 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
