Mzbel talks Castro, Motherhood, New Single and taste in Elderly Men

'Awoso Me' hitmaker Mzbel real name Belinda Ekua Amoah has disclosed that when it came to men she prefers a relatively older man who smells good, is self-made and has a touch of grey hair on his head squashing suggestions that she might be going out with an industry colleague.

The ‘Run Away’ singer explained her love desire might have been triggered when she first dated a man 30 years her senior who handled her well as a lover, producer and father stressing however that marriage was not on the cards even though she has a kid.

Mzbel also opened up about her professional life indicating that before music came calling: “I had worked at GTV, Metro TV, TV3, GBC Radio and Hush-Hush Studios either as a script writer or producer of shows”.

The ‘Saucy Girl’ speaking on the Afia Schwarzenegger Show recalled that: “even though I had vowed not to give birth myself because of my fragile nature, Aaron’s entry into my life has been the most humbling experience, who knows I might have a second child” she added.

The ‘Yopoo’ lady explained since singles are now the craze she is almost done with a new single written for her by EL with the chorus Ferrari Bugatti-Bugatti Ferrari noting that when the time is ripe to mount the stage she will be mindful of her costume as a mother thereby limiting or being mindful not to expose flesh.

She regretted awkward experiences when some church members ask her why she was in attendance when she seeks to worship God.

She dispelled rumours her baby daddy was Nana Ama McBrown’s lover noting that even though she is good friends with Maxwell he is not the one who got her pregnant. She nonetheless refused to name Aaron’s father explaining her disclosures in the past cost her dearly and that she is well guarded now.

According to Nana Ekua, mother to 2 adopted and 1 biological kid, she loves to have fun but she is not a bad girl explaining although she had a nanny in the past, she now takes cate of all three kids stating that her reality show had to be put on ice because of differences with directors and producers but assured with X Ponent/X Life company in charge of production now the show will hit the screens soon.

On Castro’s disappearance Mzbel described the whole situation as baffling but remained hopeful that his colleague and friend will be found.

On relationship between event organisers and artistes, the ‘16 years’ hitmaker noted that local musicians are treated badly in relation to their Nigerian or American counterparts disclosing that foreign artiste are given bigger sums, given sets backstage, provided drinks, meals and ushers to attend to them whiles the local artistes are neglected.

According to Mzbel, she will celebrate 10 years in the music industry with a show on December 23. The lady who has a Fante father and a Krobo mum who is late said she grew up in Jamestown and despite claims she is a promiscuous lady did not get pregnant like her peers who fell to the pregnancy sword in their teenage years.

She observed that although she is not wealthy she is comfortable as she can afford luxuries she desires as well as cater for her kids indicating that with blogs, endorsements, YouTube revenue and revenue from gigs, things are taking shape and entertainers are beginning to make some money.
