NUSLAM is my genre of music - NINO

He tends to be having a smooth and nice ride in his chosen music career. Though suffered a little setback at the start of promoting his single track last year due to a fatal accident that nearly took his life, he has really shown up with a promise. Indeed NINO, the new sensation for Ghana music is making head way by redefining the real music that must be listened to. With his unique artistic compositions and elements, the already established musicians are now “looking on their shoulders”…he is currently making all the news.

I was thrilled when I listened to this talented young chap on HAPPY fm 98.9 (an Accra based radio station). NINO was interviewed by K.B who sat in for Dr. Kahn on happy fm’s entertainment SHOWBIZ on Saturday 7th of April, 2012. “Musician in Ghana should revisit and learn from the core music values of our pioneers, because those music’s were the tunes that placed Ghana on the international music map”. NINO further on added that most of our songs today lack the key elements of music and for that reason it will continue to quickly fade out after they serve their purpose as festive songs or songs for a season.

Subsequently, NINO was on the popular AWAKE SHOW hosted by TV anchor Rasheda on E.Tv Ghana on Tuesday the 10th of April, 2012. The witty part of the story is that, both presenters K.B and Rasheda found it a little bit thorny to place his single track “Madamfo pa” under a particular genre. In a way to “bail” them, they asked NINO the kind of genre he sings. He stressed that he is bringing a new genre into the Ghanaian music industry and he will be the father of that genre. “What I am bringing out is called NUSLAM; it is a prostitution of known genres on one piece to give a different and unique rhythm that is sensitive and mellifluous to the ear”, he reiterated. He added that he wants to be unique and so he does not follow the mass, that’s why he didn’t do Azonto.

True to his words, when you find time to listen to his single, you will nod your head in concession. NINO’s second and third tracks are still cooking in studios yet to be served…he calls it Fanosaa and When I say goodbye.

NINO, the new kid on the block and the father of NUSLAM, is another talented Ghanaian yet to make waves on the international platform.
