Gospel artiste Nacee has rendered an apology to Ghanaians for unknowingly misleading his followers in the wake of the Chef Smith brouhaha.

A video posted on X by an account called Eddiehub and sighted by Ghanaweb captures Nacee kneeling in the studios of Peace FM during an interview while apologising for using his influence to promote and congratulate Chef Smith over his supposed acquisition of a GWR certificate without verifying its authenticity.

According to the gospel sensation, Chef Ebenezer Smith did not get the needed attention and support during his cook-a-thon as compared to the other applicants, thus he thought it wise to use his platform to propagate the achievement of the chef.

His apology comes in the wake of Chef Smith’s revelation of deceiving the entire Ghanaian populace and the world with his fake GWR certificate.

Chef Smith who looked to set a new cooking record, following the pursuits of Nigeria’s Hilda Baci, embarked on a 35-day cooking streak from February 1 to March 6, cooking continuously for 802 hours 25 minutes.

Months after completing this, he came out early in July to declare himself the new record-holder for the longest cooking marathon.

However, his announcement to the press was short-celebrated when he was arrested by the police for alleged fraud.

In an exclusive interview with Serwaa Amihere on GH One TV, Chef Smith in an emotional state expressed regret for faking his certificate to deceive the public after his claim was disputed by GWR.

“I render a very big apology on this big platform, and I apologise to the world that I am so sorry. I don’t deserve to live. But in my quest to earn a living, it has landed me this way I am sorry, and I beg the entire nation,” he expressed.

Explaining the motive behind his fake cook-a-thon, a remorseful Chef Smith disclosed he wanted an opportunity to display the cooking talent God gave him.
