Ghanaian Movie Producer Socrates Sarfo has urged television presenter Nana Aba Anamoah to resign from TV3 network.
According to Socrates the television network has dented the presenter’s reputation therefore and it would be difficult for her to give of her best at the station
He said Nana Aba should start looking for new employers because her present bosses have shown bad faith.
"Nana Aba should resign and never look back because she will easily get another Job. Which station will not be happy to work with her? he quizzed.
Socrate Sarfo's comment comes after Nana Aba Anamoah, presenter of TV3’s New Day program was taken off air by management TV3 after her now infamous #nanaabawasthere twitter gaffe.
Nana Aba photoshopped herself into pictures taken by some persons who were at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play Sunderland and then pretended they were taken by her.
The real owners of the pictures did not take this kindly and produced the original photos, sparking a twitter storm of ridicule.
After days of knuckling down the presenter offered an apology for her conduct, explaining it was just a prank.
Her employers did not see it as small matter, however. A statement signed by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Augustus Dickson on Saturday said: “After preliminary investigations internally, and in accordance with TV3’s own commitment to the highest level of professionalism, Management has decided to take Nana Aba Anamoah off air until further notice”.
Ironically, the same people who ridiculed her for 'stealing' the pictures are now calling for her reinstatement.
The hashtag #bringbackNanaaAba is trending on twitter, with many people including radio personality Abeiku Santana and comedian DKB, voicing their support for the TV host.
But speaking on an Accra based radio station Neat Fm with Kwesi Aboagye on Monday Socrate Safo said he “disagrees with those calling for the reinstatement of Nana Aba because she has been unfairly treated and she must resign from TV3”.
He added: “If she goes back to TV3 she will lose my respect”.
