ACE GOSPEL Musician Christiana Love has reacted angrily to media reports that said she is having an amorous relationship with New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Christy said she had never dated the NPP leader, whom she described as a ‘father’ and would never do so, reminding her critics that she was not bothered about what they decided to put out, rubbishing the newspapers that published the false stories.http://www.ameyawdebrah.com/
Christiana Love and her husband, Pastor Kwaku Love Hammond, had been in the news lately after the couple, whose marriage had hit the rocks, decided to attack each other verbally on radio.
Reports indicated that the one-time love birds accused each other of infidelity, which development sowed a seed of discord between them.
Some newspapers under the control of Castle Communication Directorate were said to have gone the extra mile by accusing Christiana Love of having an amorous affair with Nana Akufo-Addo during the 2008 campaign.
The NDC papers insinuated that because Nana Addo took a picture with the musician whose husband was part of the Nana campaign tour, she had an affair with the NPP guru.
The celebrated songstress’s musical track, ‘Moving Forward’, was adopted by the NPP and her group was part of the party’s campaign team.
Reacting to the news via phone from Germany, Christiana Love said she was surprised and amazed that people could lie that much about her and Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to the ace musician, “Nana Akufo Addo is my dad and nothing else and the NPP leader also treats me like a daughter so people should not try to read meanings into my relationship with Nana Addo.”
She said she felt so proud and thanked God for even having the opportunity to get closer to a nice personality like Nana Akufo-Addo, a world acclaimed politician.
Christiana Love said she did not discriminate against people and that she was also very close to the sitting Vice President and other top politicians from both NPP and NDC.
She noted that she was grateful to her Creator for blessing her with a music talent which had made it possible for her to meet the most influential people in society.
The gospel star said she fraternized with all who came her way, irrespective political affiliation and this behavior, coupled with her humble nature, had won her more admirers.
She therefore admonished the media not to wrongly label her as someone who was flirting around, insisting that she was a staunch Christian who would not stoop so low as to sleep around.
Asked whether she had any immediate plans of getting married now that her marriage with Pastor Love had collapsed, Christiana Love replied in the negative, saying, “It has not occurred to me to get married now.”
She said after nine years of marriage, it was now time to call some time off and concentrate on other equally important things, especially her musical career.
Christiana Love rendered apologies to Ghanaians, notably her fans, if she offended them in any way as she spoke on radio when her marriage saga cropped up, saying, “Forgive me.”
