Ernest ‘Owoahene’ Nana Acheampong, popularly known as Nana Acheampong has named highlife legend, Nana Ampadu as the best musician in that genre of music in Ghana.

Nana Acheampong who is also known as Champion Lover boy by his fans said Nana Ampadu’s prowess with regards to highlife music in Ghana is exceptional and can never be matched by other highlife greats in the country.

“My all-time best highlife artiste will always be Nana Ampadu. His talent when it comes to highlife music is different and outstanding. He was my mentor when I was young,” he told Gattuso on Kasapa FM.
Nana Ampadu is credited with numerous popular highlife tracks and he is known to have composed over 800 songs.

26 albums to his credit, Nana Acheampong named himself as the best highlife if nominated amongst his colleagues, Daddy Lumba, Amakye Dede and Kojo Antwi.

“I’m the best among Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi and Amakye Dede. I believe in myself.”

Nana Acheampong is also the other half of the famous Lumba brothers who popularized Burger highlife in Ghana (the other is Charles Kojo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba).

His ‘Na anka ebeye den’ hit is believed to have sold the most copies ever for an album in Ghana.

Some of his songs include Abu aka mesim, Casanova, Kata w’ani te, Deobrenodi, Nipa, Se eye wode, Obibini mu obibini, Ever ready, Odo yarea, Meko odo nkyen, I go die 4 u, Mansusu saa, Ako me square, Brebre Obaahemaa, Wo wone hwan nad many others.
