Nana Ampadu to be honoured on 70th birthday

Legendary Ghanaian musician Nana Kwame Ampadu's unique talent and resourcefulness in Ghana's music industry is scheduled to be celebrated in grand style in 2015.

Events Company Legend Benefits announced that it is honouring the great musician on his seventieth birthday with a weeklong bash.

Nana Ampadu remains one of the greatest musicians Ghana has ever had. He has contributed in so many ways to what is now called Ghana's music industry producing several albums in the process. Ampadu is further credited with training a number of young fellows to take after him.

On March 15, 2015 Nana will turn 70, in marking the milestone; the organisers hope to celebrate the living legend before he bows out.

“It's a weeklong programme with a lineup of activities including keep fit walk, football match, musical concert, thanksgiving service and Sod cutting ceremony in commemoration of a proposed musical museum, the CEO of Legend Benefits events, Mr. Bonna Addo disclosed.

“Legends Benefits deems it appropriate that toiling for one's nation demands reward, especially at ones ripe age. It is hoped that celebrating Nana Ampadu's birthday shall pave the way for other would-be celebrants,” he added.
