Nana King Performs With Akon Live In Naija

The much published and long awaited “AKON LIVE IN NAIJA” concert organized by Westside Music Inc in Nigeria finally got to the ‘D’ day. The live concert also featured Faze, Da Natives, Sasha, Sound Sultan, Freestyle, Basket Mouth, Dj Jimmy Jatt and more, all from Nigeria. From Ghana was our own, Nana King of Ashanti International who was the only artiste invited to share the stage with Akon.

The show scheduled for two destinations on two different days, took off on Friday July 8 at Ocean View in Victoria Island [V.I] and stopped finally on Saturday July 9 at Shell Comp. In Port Harcourt all in Nigeria.

According to showbiz analysts and from what I saw, this is one of the most expensive shows ever in the history of showbiz in Nigeria - a show which costed as high as five thousand Naira[N5,000] for popular seat and fifteen thousand Naira[N15,000] for VIP seats and trust me, they were filled to capacity.

Both shows being successful, it all started with smartly dressed beautiful ladies ushering in patrons of the event to their various seats, whilst different artistes took to the stage in turns to thrill the crowd in the same mood.

Later on, Ghana’s Nana King was called upstage with the crowd showering him with much deserved praises and eagerly waiting to see him perform. He surprised them with a freestyle from Ghana’s Ex-Doe and Tiger (Sebo) before he came on stage. When the D.C King (Nana King) and Nana Queen took the mic alongside Ex Doe and Sibo, the crowd go berserk.

Accompanied by his dancers, Shaka Babsi and Tuuyemi who were dancing their head off to the heavy sound banging out of the loud speakers, it was nothing short of sensation. The matured crowd shook their thing for over 15 minutes. This is what Nigerians refer to as “FIRE DON COM NAIJA”.

Basket Mouth, a musician/comedian made sure everyone present had his own fair share of laughter, with his professional stand up comedy. You had to see him act on stage. Rugged man, Faze, Da Natives and many other artistes did justice to the stage by making the crowd swoon and scream. You can imagine how the anxious crowd responded to Akon who performed last on both shows.

To say his performance was awesome will be an understatement. He was more than the word great. If you missed the event, try to be there next time.
