Nescafe African Revelations Begins

One of the hottest Ghanaian hiplife trio at the moment is Praye, the group that emerged earlier this year as the winners of the maiden edition of the Nescafe African Revelations.

Praye beat all other groups from Ghana during the local preliminary and final events last year to represent the country at the West and Central African grand final event. They managed to soar above formidable opposition from Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire and Niger.

Their winning song Shoddy, has been all over the radio and performed at almost every occasion since being declared champions. Come July 30, the search will begin again for the new champions of the Nescafe African Revelations (NAR) to take over from Praye.

The aim of the organisers of NAR is to discover a music group made up of three to four people with the intention of nurturing them to stardom. The participants could either be a band or rap group.

The Volta Regioal capital, Ho will be the venue for the beginning of the process of selecting the champions for the second edition of the Nescafe African Revelations this year.

After the Ho event there will be a nation-wide tour to look for and select groups from the various regions to take part in the national final to determine the group that will represent the country at the West and Central African region’s championship.
