The Dancehall/Reggae genre has in recent times gained much attention as well as enthusiastic collaborations between its advocators, musicians.
Among the many Dancehall/Reggae music collaborations, the seeming latest Dancehall feature is the highest earned nominee in the Bass Awards 2014; Ras Kuuku of Puom Music featured the VGMA Artiste of the Year, Shatta Wale of SMFL on his latest song titled ‘Dancehall Queen’.
The rhythm of ‘Dancehall Queen’ which is close to the rhythm of ‘Enter the net’ by Shatta Wale is a song that seeks to appreciate women in the Puom (world).
Ras Kuuku, who for many is a realist, has been nominated in the Bass Awards 2014 for the Best song category, Best performer category, Music video (Reggae) category, Best Collaboration (Reggae) category; Reggae song category, Artiste of the year category, Reggae Artiste of the year category and the ‘omitted’ Songwriter of the year category.
Shatta Wale, a self-acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ was also nominated in the Bass Awards 2014 for the Artiste of the year category, Dancehall Artiste of the year category, Dancehall Song category, Music Video (Dancehall) category, Best Performer category and Best Collaboration (Dancehall) category.
Ras Kuuku for many is for the masses and has a massive following among the youths and enjoys good airplay around the country likewise Shatta Wale.
