For the past months, there has been humorless allegation which has got most Ghanaian musicians grumbling pertaining to the fact that Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) is extremely corrupt and one of such musicians is Gospel musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong who recently added his voice to the castigation of the organization.

The renowned Ghanaian gospel artiste in an exclusive interview with Doctar Cann on Happy FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra‘ stated that no criteria has been established for the distribution of royalties, hence the money is shared in a substandard manner which is not based on merit.

This shameful act he said has still not been addressed even after several confrontations.

The award winning gospel artiste said, “I want to make them understand that the money does not belong to them to be shared in the manner it is being shared to us.

They should clearly explain the categories each musician falls under and instead of the mobile money method of payment, a cheque should rather be given as well as reconciliation to be done to ascertain why the artiste is being paid a particular amount.

Let transparency work and everyone be treated fairly to bring peace and sustain the unity among the members.”

Nicholas Omane Acheampong is a sensational gospel artiste with hit songs including Tabitha Kum, Zaphanat Panea and Maher-shalal-Hash-ba.
