Ghanaian gospel musician, Akesse Brempong, has rubbished the saying that churches like to call on gospel artistes to come and perform at events without paying them.
Speaking on this issue with DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s Ayekoo After-Drive show, he noted that no pastor can come to any musician’s house to pull them to any event if they do not want to go.
He added, “It will depend on how the musicians carry themselves. If they express interest in having you and you have a management team or you have Credit Default Swap (CDS) laid down about how people engage you, nobody will take you for granted”.
“You are the gift. If you have ways of operation, nobody will come and carry you from your home to go and sing somewhere if you don’t want to go”, he said.
He advised, per this, that musicians should have laid out policies, and then no pastor will be able to take them for granted, paying for their services with a simple ‘God bless you’.
