Nursing mother in court for biting off the nose of rival

Bibiani (W/R), Oct 28, GNA - A 28-year old nursing mother at Sefwi-Etwebo, who driven by jealously, allegedly bit off the nose of her rival, has appeared before the Bibiani Circuit Court, charge with causing harm.

Comfort Owusu pleaded guilty to the offence but said she has

an explanation to her action and was granted GH¢15,000 bail. She would re-appear on Tuesday, November 2. Police Inspector Lucky Gogolomi told the court presided over

by Mr Justice Emmanuel Ankamah that the complainant, Veronica

Appiah, is a trader at Sefwi Bekwai. On October 2, Veronica attended a funeral at Etwebo, where

Comfort picked a quarrel with her on suspicion that she was in a

relationship her husband. This result in a fierce fight, during which, the accused sank her

teeth into the complainant's nose and bit off a chunk. She was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital and later

transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for
