Apostle Dr. Paul Okoh Hackman’s church at Achimota became a centerpiece of attraction last Sunday, as gospel diva Obaapa Christy launched her latest album ‘Hyebre Sesafo.’
In a spectacular show of camaraderie, a host of the country’s top gospel stars and several upcoming ones flocked to the venue, not only to support one of their own but also entertain the patrons.
The tall list included Supt. Kofi Sarpong, Ceccy Twum, Diana Hammond, Gifty Osei, Ohema Mercy, Florence Obinim, Piesie Esther, Joyce Blessing and Nana Obiri Yeboah.
The rest were Diana Antwi Hamilton, Selina Boateng, Nacy, Bro. Sammy, Minister Boateng, Abena Serwa (formerly Ophelia Nyantakyi), Maafia Owusu, Mabel Okyere and the Gateway International Chapel choir, Alajo.
Indeed, the musicians could not have seized a better opportunity to welcome Obaapa Christy back into their fold, following her long hibernation off the gospel music scene.
An array of radio presenters, disc-jockeys, actors and television personalities, including Stacy Amoateng, also graced the occasion, alongside scores of men and women of God.
‘Hyebre Sesafo’ is Obaapa’s ninth album recorded by sound-engineers Dan Bassy, Shaar and Nacy.
It has songs such as Aseda, Ma Wo Nsane, Me Bo Wodin, Yehia Wo Mmoa and Wiase Mu Abrabo, all written and composed by Nana Franke.
“I am very grateful to God for making this inspirational album a reality,” Obaapa told The Spectator Agoro, adding: “I am also grateful to my family for their support and prayers through the difficult times.”
