Obour is running misplaced priorities - Kwame Owusu Danso

Former member of once vibrant hiplife group Ecko Elijah of Ecko fame, in a recent interview has shared his opinion in relation to how Musiga is being managed.

According to the 2008 nescafe winner, Kwame Owusu Danso in an interaction with georgebritton.com disclosed why he thinks Obours administration is running what he termed as misplaced priorities.

Explaining why he thinks the president of the musicians’ union is operating Musiga with a misplaced priority, the artiste now turned presenter recounted his expectations prior to Obour’s election.

‘’I’m pretty much disappointed in how Obour is handling things, am not trying to lower his standard in the eyes of the right thinking members of society but I think the right things must be put in place to ensure that what must be done is done’, he stated.

In addition he said, ‘’Obour is one gentleman that I respect but I think he has a bit of misplaced priority, I think that he is letting the power get into him too much. Yes, he had brilliant ideas and execution plans but what I’m seeing is totally different from that which was said prior to him being elected as president of Musiga’’, he concluded.

Reacting to a question about the music industry, Kwame Owusu Danso touched on how far the industry has come. To him the industry has grown and is now really paying, this he related to how some of the top acts charge lately.

‘’I think the industry is now really paying; prior to this improvement, we have had an industry that has seen little or lacked support in terms of governmental, individualistic and social aid. In general till now we have not really seen significant psychological and financial support. So by getting to this point of musicians being able to charge hundred thousand for shows is quite impressive''.

He also emphasized on the fact that if artistes are able to come together with one voice, a lot will be done than what is happening now.

The former artiste now turned presenter also suggested; ‘If we are able to do the right thing, together with Musiga, the president and individual musicians we will be able to see a total evolution of the industry and significant reshaping of the whole musical sphere.

According to him, with the right structures in place more and more people will be convinced to venture into the creative arts industry, which in-turn would serve as a major employment source.
