Ofori Amponsah drops new album

Ofori Amponsah dropped tracks from his new album on Fiifi Banson’s radio show Tuesday. The rush hour programme on Peace FM, a show Mufty Dabre, Ofori’s late manager, used to produce became a platform for releasing all the hit songs on the album. Mr All For Real hinted the album would be officially released in two weeks.

In a live studio interview with Ofori Amponsah, he disclosed the new album would come as a double CD categorised into black and red labels. The sixteen-track red label CD will be released in December and features some of Ofori’s new styles in music and remixes, which he hopes will be accepted by Ghanaians. The black label, according to him, will consist of nine songs.

Songs on the new album include ‘Kwame ko’, ‘Barbeque’, ‘Yaa Boakyewaa’, ‘nothing but love’ and ‘Highlife dancing’. Ofori Amponsah took the opportunity to pay a glowing tribute to the man who first discovered him, Daddy Lumba. He also mentioned the late Mufty Dabre and described him as ‘one of our greatest’.

The release of this new album falls in line with Ofori’s policy of delivering an album each year. His previous album, Emmanuella, was an award winning one and is still in music charts across the country. This will be the first time Ofori Amponsah is releasing a two-in-one album made up of twenty-five tracks in all.
