All is set for a memorable live band experience this Friday (April 20) as Okyeame Kwame, the celebrated Hiplife artiste, hosts the third edition of his popular OK STRIPPED CONCERT at the +233 Jazz & Grill Bar in Accra.
The Rap-Dacta, as he is affectionately called, is assembling an array of award-winning performers currently making waves on the music scene, to deliver an evening that will etch on the memories of music lovers.
The sensational Kuami Eugene, who grabbed two awards (i.e. Highlife Artiste, and Best New Artiste) at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards will be performing, alongside Kidi whose song ‘Odo’ was adjudged the ‘Highlife Song of the Year.’
The Best Female Vocalist of Year, Adina, is also on the bill, as well as the queen of Afro-Pop, Mzvee. Sensational songstress, Irene Logan, and the newest sensation on the block, Abochi, will also be performing.
OK STRIPPED is a calendar event organised yearly by Okyeame Kwame at the popular +233 Jazz & Grill Bar in Accra.
It is a night of exciting live-band presentation where the celebrated Okyeame Kwame, supported by his musician-friends, entertain audiences with the popular Patch Bay Band.
A unique feature of the event is how the Rap-Dacta breaks some of his own rules and subject himself to the ‘interrogation’ of his audiences.
Weaving interactions into his musical performances, Okyeame avails himself to be questioned by his audiences, whilst they also request for their favourite songs to be played.
In an interview yesterday, Okyeame Kwame explained: “This is the only event amongst all my shows where I engage my audience at the most interactive level, and allow them to ask me anything they want to know about me!”
Part of the event, he added, is “when I allow my fans to request for their favourite songs and I play it for them.”
“So just come to +233, buy your ticket for only GHc 100 and let’s have a great time with Kidi, Kuami Eugene, Mzvee, myself, Irene, Abochi and the other surprise guests who will be passing through,” Okyeame said.
