Rapper Okyeame Kwame, who recently graduated with a masters degree in Marketing Strategy from the University of Ghana -Legon, was on Monday November 21, awarded by the mayor of Cincinnati with the Key to the City.

Put together in conjunction with the Black Nurses Association of Cincinnati and the Ghanaian community in Cincinnati, the trip also gave the veteran rapper opportunity to increase awareness Hepatitis B, a campaign he has championed for close to a decade.

Okyeame Kwame returns to Ghana today, and his team reveals that he’s both elated and motivated by the honour. On his return, he is expected to present the key to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Since entering the industry in 1999, he’s grown to be a respected brand, for his creativity and depth. He has won several awards including GMA Artist of the Year in 2009. His most recent singles include Small Small and K’si Boys, Tension and Halelujah.
