The head of Communication at Zylofon Music and the Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM) has said that all artistes signed under the management of Zylofon Music are better off than they were, prior to their signing.

Speaking in an interview on Onua FM’s entertainment talk show ‘Anigye Mmre’, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo stated that the artistes are all living a comfortable life with regard to their respective careers.

“None of the artistes signed by Zylofon Music is suffering,” he said.

“I can tell you based on this fact that all our artistes are living better, and let any artiste under Zylofon Music come and dispute this fact.

“If you want us to do a critical analysis on every artiste under the label, we can. Why are you in business? You are in business to better yourself as an individual, for your standard of living to be better,” Arnold Asamoah Badu further stated.

There have been reports that Zylofon Music plans to reduce the number of years for each of its artistes.

Asked whether this is true, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo said management is holding discussions to that effect and would communicate the outcome once the terms are properly decided.

“Officially, the label has not come out to make a declaration on such an issue. I can tell you a conversation is ongoing within our label, and because we are not through with the discussion, I cannot come out to point out those whose contract duration will be reduced.”

He added: “It is allowed in every viable business venture, so Zylofon Music as a label, we have sat down to review our procedures to see if we can do reconstruction. So, I can tell you that discussions have gone on.”

According to Mr. Asamoah Baidoo, he could not name any of the artistes likely to be affected by a review in contract, but the music label would not be violating any law if it decides to review contracts of its artistes.

“Again in the old contract, there is a provision for review, based on mutual understanding between the label and artiste especially with the duration of the contract. It is subject to review, so that clause in the contract gives the label every opportunity to use its power to review and the artiste can also do same.”

So far Zylofon Music has signed 12 artistes namely Bibi Bright, Becca, James Gardiner, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Zynnell Zuh, Sima Brew, Benedicta Gafah, Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar, Obibini and TooSweet Annan.
