This was expected to be a celebration of a music icon. A legend and a trailblazer by every definition.

The media buzz in the buildup of the show was impressive and rightly so because not many can stay relevant in the music space for as long as Obrafour has.

While the performances themselves from the various artists who thronged the stage to pay homage were impressive, the attendance left much to be desired. This was supposed to be a sell-out show.

To be charitable, not even 80 percent of the seats at the Accra International Conference Centre where the concert came off, were filled by the time the eight-hour show was over.

The few patrons who made it to the venue however, got their monies worth as the Pae Mu Ka concert brought together some of the finest A-List music artistes across Ghana to perform and celebrate the rap legend Obrafour for his immense contribution in the music industry.

The likes of Sarkodie Stonebwoy, Samini, Reggie Rockstone, Joyce Blessing, El, Kwaw Kese, Edem, King Promise and many others were there to perform.

Lovers of Obrafour were in joyous mood when the rapper hit the stage depicting Ghana’s rich culture on the stage starting with a “killer” poetry from Nana Asaase to introduce him.

The rap icon started by performing the song titled “Kwame Nkrumah” which was and remains one of the biggest songs off his “Pa Mu Ka album in 1999.

What was unforgettable was when Obrafour’s “Godson” Sarkodie joined him on stage.

Spontaneously, Hiplife legend, Reggie Rockstone, Kwaw Kese and Volta Region superstar, Edem also joined them on stage. That set the roof on fire.

The ecstatic crowd kept screaming and shouting for more.

Kwaw Kese, Edem and Sarkodie were the main show-stoppers as they collectively performed their old hit song, ‘U ‘Dey Craze (Keva) much to the admiration of the charged audience.

Samini and Nana Ama Mcbrown also hit the stage and had fans on their feet. The party mood got Samini’s arch-rival Shatta Wale dancing to their melody.



Other celebrities who graced the occasion were, Yvonne Nelson, Naa Ashorkor, Shatta Wale, Reggie Rockstone, Tic Tac (now TiC), Kofi B, CY Lover, Bisa Kdei, R2Bees, Stephen Appiah, DKB, Nana Ama McBrown, Moesha Boduong, Kalybos, Prince David Osei, Coded, Big Ben, Joey B, Ras Kuuku, Akwaboah Jnr.

Obrafour paid a glowing tribute to late Dancehall singer Ebony, Terry Bonchaka and Ronnie Coaches of Buk Bak fame.
