At the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2016, rapper Pappy Kojo lost in all four categories he was nominated for with his fellow artistes and several people took to social media to mock him.

Some people took it very personal to the extent that they had to say Pappy deserves awards organized at Senior High School level while others said most of his fans are kids so he needs not compare himself to other artistes when it comes to winning awards.

The Fante rap god has replied all mockers who teased him bitterly after he didn’t win a single award at the 2016 VGMAs . In an interview with Berla Mundi on Monday evening in the studios of Live Fm,Pappy Kojo spoke very maturely about what his thoughts were after the mockery.

Pappy disclosed that he wasn’t disappointed about not winning in any of his four nominations and that it didn’t really hurt. Responding to some people’s comments that his fans are kids,he said,

'It is very cool if my fans are kids.My favorite artiste ever is Michael Jackson and I have two tattoos of him. His fans were the kids and he was in love with them and that’s what I always pray for. This is because, when the kids love you, look I was a kid when I fell in love with Obrafuor and I'm still here loving Obrafuor..so there’s nothing wrong with that one and I Pappy Kojo know that my core fans are the kids'.

The Ay3 Late rapper said he expected the mockery after he lost in the first two nominations and his management and himself were monitoring everything that was happening on Twitter as they sat in the auditorium.

Another shocking revelation he gave was that he is currently off Twitter and that his management team is handling his account for him. Talking about the awards he has won since he came into the music scene,he disclosed that he got into the game some few years ago and got a couple of awards last year which included 4Syte video awards and a VGMA award. He further stated that he has done well since some people who have been in the music industry years before he popped up have not even had a single award.

According to him, winning an award doesn’t justify if an artiste didn’t work hard in the year in review but it’s only for bragging rights.

Pappy Kojo has been billed to perform at this year’s Ghana Meets Naija on the 21st of May,2016,where he comes face to face with Harry Song. Get your tickets to watch the Fante Van Damme do his thing, swagged up on stage.
