Pascal Amanfo’s “Purple Rose” premiered

The Silverbird Cinemas located at the Accra Mall was brightened with stars and cast in Pascal Amanfo’s latest movie “Purple Rose” on Friday night.

The movie which is the first produced film by the award winning director from all indications lived up to the expectations of movie lovers. Tagged as a Pascal Amanfo imagination “Purple Rose” which started off as an imagination became a reality for many people in relationships and most importantly about-to-be-wedded couples.

At the end of the almost two hours play, many were left with the question as to whether it was possible for a lady about to get married to her heartthrob of over 10 years can fall in love with another man, three weeks to her wedding?

In an interview with this paper, the producer and director of “Purple Rose”, Pascal Amanfo said that it was difficult producing the play. “I don’t think I ever want to produce and direct a play again”, he reiterated.

The premiere which was in two showings was graced by the cast in the movie, which included Eddie Watson Jnr, Roselyn Ngissah, Kay Elliot, Amanobea Dodoo, Nigerian Actress Nse Ekpe-Ntem and Salma Mumin. Other movie stars who came in to support Pascal on the night were Khareema Aguiar, Kafui Danku, Prince David Osei and Majid Michel.

Purple Rose will run at the Silverbird Cinemas for two weeks in Accra and Weija. So do well to catch the movie and learn some lessons for yourself.
