Peekei eyes Grammy Award with Akwaaba

Up-comimg hiphop artiste, Peekei has announced his presence in the African music industry with "AKWAABA" which talks about an African Prince who strives for relevance back home after touring the world to find himself.

Admired by his peers in the Ghana hiphop fraternity, Peekei has contributed to the success of many rappers in Ghana, and Akwaaba is his first solo track.

Peekei is a great rapper by all standards, sounding clear and vivid. A true African Pride who will revolutionize Ghana's ailing music industry.

“It has been a long journey from my days as a contestant on ‘Rap Battles’ on Vibe FM, way back in 2005 and I think I am now matured for the game now,” he said in an interview.

Peekei; real name, Ernest Ofori, had a stint with music as a member of the hip hop duo, Greenfield. However, the group had to go their separate ways due to differing views on the future with regards to their music career.

"I do music for the world because it is my dream to win a Grammy. Even though some music artistes are doing their best, none has hit the world stage and I want to be the first Ghanaian artiste to pick up a Grammy," he hinted.
