Renowned media personality, Nana Adwoa Awindor, has highlighted the importance of women's empowerment to help young ladies deal with the obstacles they may face in society.

Speaking at the 2024 Youth Week celebrations by the Assemblies of God Cedar Mountain Chapel International, East Legon, she pointed out the various challenges women and young girls face, including intimidation and financial manipulation.

She stressed the importance of self-reliance and urged young people to continuously upscale themselves to remain resilient in the face of adversity.

“One of the things that people abuse girls with is money. That is why we have to keep empowering our girls. You need to find a reason to upscale yourself. Empowerment is optimal and important because people tend to succumb to anything when they are vulnerable. And that is why we must empower you every step of the way,” she said.

Nana Adwoa Awindor emphasised the need for virtues like honesty, integrity, and faith, noting that these qualities are essential for the youth to progress in life.

According to her, these virtues can open doors and create lasting opportunities.

“If you are honest, there are so many things you would just conquer. If you are honest, you will get work to do. You will have repeated work and recommendations etc. So I would say honesty is prime.

“We are not angels. We can't be prim and proper, but we should remind ourselves that this is who I am and this is who I want to be,” she added.
