Photos: YFM launches 5th anniversary celebrations

YFM, the station for the young and young at heart, has officially launched its 5th anniversary to celebrate five years of providing exceptional radio entertainment and experiences to its listeners.

The event, which was held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, was attended by some Ghana’s acclaimed stars like Samini, D Black, D Cryme, EL.

Jay Foley, General Manager for YFM noted that “We are proud of our achievements in five years. YFM has provided an invaluable opportunity and platform for Ghanaian music stars to project and promote their music locally and internationally. We are indeed very proud that we have supported them to grow and be successful in their careers. YFM is undeniably the leading youth-oriented station that has contributed significantly to the vibrancy and growth of the music industry in Ghana.”

Launching the event, Reggie Rockstone, the acclaimed originator of Hiplife music, reiterated the contributions of YFM; “the past five years has been an amazing journey for the station, and a thrilling one for the millions of listeners. The great successes chalked by station year after year is a testament to all the on-air and behind the scenes staff of YFM who through their creativity, diligence, and passion, have made the station what it is today. YFM, over the past five years, has been a significant channel for the growth of the music industry in Ghana”.

A number of activities that would be held to mark the anniversary include the Youth Excellence Series, which would be a series of on-air and off-air programs that would feature young accomplished entrepreneurs and corporate executives who will meet, interact and inspire the youth to take advantages of opportunities to reach their unique potential.

Other activities include the Lifestyle series where selected topics would be discussed on-air by experts in the respective areas to provide valuable information to improve the lifestyles of listeners and Ghanaians in general.

The All Stars Weekend, one of the most highly anticipated events on Ghana’s entertainment calendar, would be the climax of the anniversary celebrations. Held in December for the past three years, this event brings together celebrated Ghanaian musicians in the industry to entertain and thrill audiences during the festive season.

YFM received overwhelming endorsements and commendations from the music stars and YFM clients and partners in attendance for their immense contribution to Ghana’s entertainment industry, and pledged their support for the station.
