The police say they have gathered credible information pointing at some individuals they suspect are behind the gruesome murder of music producer, Fennec Okyere.
Mr. Okyere, who was the manager of popular hip-life artiste, Kwaw Kesse, was murdered in cold blood in his residence on the Spintex Road last month.
Investigations into the death of the music producer were started by the Accra Regional Police, but the Homicide Division of the Police CID has taken over investigations from the regional command.
Spokesperson for the Accra Regional Police, DSP Freeman Tettey told Joy News the regional command has not completely abandoned their investigations but would continue to supply the Homicide Division with vital information.
The murder is a "serious matter and of national interest", hence the decision of the Homicide Division to take over the case, he explained.
“I must admit that we are closing in on some people,” DSP Freeman Tettey stated.
Even though nobody has yet been arrested in connection with the murder, he said, “our intelligence is pointing out to a lot of things…we are working hard closing in on some faces that we believe have questions to answer”.
But the police are tight-lipped on the names of these notable suspected killers.
The mortal remains of Fennec Okyere have since been interred.
