The ninth of April will go down memory lane as one of the most unforgettable days in the year 2012, especially for members of the public who joined Pravda radio at its maiden edition of its Easter Monday Pool Party.
The Pravda Pool Party, inspired by the just a cedi charity campaign is to create fun while raising funds to sponsor the needy during the Easter period.
On Easter Monday hundreds of listeners trooped to the Adonai Hotel to support Pravda Radio in its bid to provide for some orphanages.
The public also turned out in large numbers to meet the team at Pravda Radio and enjoy some of the new talents discovered by Pravda Radio. Some of the patrons at the pool party told Pravda News the event was indeed worth it.
Other activities that took place at the event included dancing, singing and swimming competition. Patrons lauded the Spintex road radio station for its initiative to support the needy and expressed their excitement with the activities at the party, requesting it be repeated as often as possible.
An on air singing competition was also crowned with the selection of its winner Cassandra Gyamfi Asante who will enjoy a two-day couple’s stay at the Adonai Hotel as her price.
Speaking in an interview, Miriam Osei Agyemang, Head of Events at Pravda Radio intimated that, indeed the maiden edition of the Pravda Pool Party had been a major success thus the general public must look forward to a bigger easter Monday in 2013 for the second edition.
She expressed gratitude to her team members and the general public for their generosity toward the 'Just a cedi charity campaign' and the valuable time spent at the party.
She concluded, Pravda Radio will make donations to selected orphanages in the country with proceeds from the 'Just a cedi charity campaign' as well as funds raised from the pool party.**
