Ghanaian musician, Wutah Kobby, has stated that the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) board should have done better by nominating the music group, ‘Praye’, for this year’s awards.
The nominations for the 20th edition of the VGMA was release on March 15 and whilst some artistes are happy about their nominations in the various categories, Praye, on the other, is not happy that they were not nominated in the ‘Best Music Group’ category.
According to Praye Tiatia in an Instagram post, no group deserves the ‘Best Music Group’ nomination than them because their group made a lot of noise in the year under review.
However, in an interview on e. TV Ghana’s ‘The Late Nite Celebrity Show’, Wutah Kobby, a member of the defunct Wutah Group, said Praye deserves to be part of the VGMA nomination list.
“Praye deserves nomination for this year’s VGMA because last year they were very vibrant. Currently, everyone knows Praye’s song. You know, Praye release 3 singles last year, whether they were good songs or bad, the songs were all over the country”.
The nominees for the Best Group category of the 20th edition of the VGMAs include, R2Bees, Dope Nation, La Meme Gang and Bethel Revival Choir.
After splitting in April 14, 2018, the Hiplife trio performed together for the first time since they broke up in 2014.
They released two new singles, including ‘Gbangbai’ which got a lot of airplay.
