Last year, Miss Malaika celebrated its tenth anniversary hence it was dubbed Miss Malaika@ 10.
There was no weekly eviction last year as has been a tradition with the Miss Malaika reality series.
Ten intelligent and beautiful ladies Ella, Ama, Frances, Sonia, Sharon, Regina, Aisha, Edlyn, Anima and Sadia keenly contested for the cash, crown and car.
Last year Miss Malaika saw the delegates travelling to South Africa and Namibia which was sponsored by Air Namibia.
In an opening speech by the Operations Manager of GHOne, Nii Ayite Hammond he congratulated all then delegates for being part of the tenth anniversary and although it was a competition; their love for each other made them compete as one family. He was happy for the fact that Miss Malaika had a positive impact on all ten delegates.
Miss Malaika@ 10 saw some interesting tasks; tasks such as culture night, cooking task and fashion night. It was an election year; therefore the ten delegates were tasked to come up peace messages he which was broadcasted on GHOne entertainment TV during the election period.
The grand finale came at the conference centre on 27th October, 2012 and it was a carnival night; at the end the 18yr old Sharon Cofie won the title Miss Malaika 2012, the cash and the car recently, January 22, 2013 at the studios of GHOne, all ten delegates were prizes for participating in last year’s competition.
Ama won best catwalk and took home a Hisense toaster, Frances and Edlyn won best designers and took home a Hisense kettle, Sadia and Anima won the cooking task and took home a Hisense blender each, Edlyn won the best peace message and took home a Hisense blender whilst Regina won the best cultural presentation during the culture night and took home a Hisense kettle.
All seven delegates were given 700 GHC and products from ATL, the second runner up (Sadia) took home 2000 GHC and products from ATL, first runner up (Regina) took home 3000 GHC and products from ATL.
The winner for Miss Malaika@10 (Miss Malaika 2012), Miss Sharon Cofie took home a brand new KIA car, 6000 GHC and products from ATL.
Frances thanked all sponsors and the organizers GHOne for giving them the opportunity to live their fantasy, and was grateful for the exposure and especially the cash since tertiary schools have reopened.
