MUSIGA President, Bessa Simons, has hinted that beginning next year, the winner of the Highlife Category at the TGMAs will receive a special package from MUSIGA.

In an interview on Accra-based Joy FM’s entertainment show, ShowbizAtoZ on July 31, 2024, he mentioned that MUSIGA is also planning to introduce additional initiatives to promote Highlife in Ghana, including providing the winner with a special award.

“Another thing MUSIGA is doing to promote Highlife is next year because we’re partners with Ghana Music Awards, we’re adding a special award to the person who wins the Highlife category.

When asked specifically what that special package would be, Bessa responded saying “I won’t say it now, it’ll be more than a cash prize. So that will really make it more attractive and every year we’ll advocate for that. You’ll never know it could be a car, it could be something that is relevant in the musician’s life”.

Meanwhile, Kuami Eugene won the Best Highlife Artiste Category at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
