The Public Relations officer of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Nana Yaa Serwaa Osei has said movie producer, Abdul Salam Mumuni should provide evidence to support his allegation that the current leadership of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) are only interested in satisfying their pockets and not the industry’s need.
Speaking to Ray Charles Marfo on Showbiz Arena on Adehye FM, Nana Yaa Serwaa Osei debunked Abdul Salam’s claims stating that the association has no source of income.
“There is no money in our possession. Everyone knows that our members don’t even pay dues every month, we deduct their Audiovisual Society of Ghana (ASOG) money every year to pay their dues. Just ask yourself the amount of the dues; it’s just GHS10 so just imagine the money that FIPAG receives. I don’t know whether Abdul Salam Mumuni is confusing ASOG with FIPAG.”
“I can tell you that FIPAG executives are not paid for the work we do. If you ask our members, they will even tell you that I complain sometimes. We don’t get any money from FIPAG. Even sometimes we the executives use our pocket money for FIPAG activities, so I don’t know the money Salam says we are chopping.”
“To me, I don’t understand Salam because he knows there is no money from any corner. If he knows of any money that comes to FIPAG and we misappropriate it, he should bring proof. “
