'Real thieves are the educated people with pens to steal' - Tic fumes over corruption

Highlife artiste Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah, popularly known as Tic, has expressed his frustration over the misappropriation of state funds by government officials.

He noted that while it was once a common belief that thieves were primarily the unemployed and needy, this perception has shifted in contemporary Africa.

Tic pointed out that today, it is educated individuals, often in government positions, who are manipulating budget figures to embezzle funds, thereby harming the nation.

"Growing up in Africa, most people thought thieves were mostly the uneducated or unemployed, but now everyone knows that it is completely wrong!

"The real thieves are the educated ones in coats with a pen to steal via forging figures and papers for silly explanations when they are caught," he wrote on X.

Corruption remains a significant issue in Ghana and across the African continent, raising concerns amid widespread hardship.
