Regional Minister addresses school cultural festival

Kintampo, (B/A) July 28, GNA- Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister on Tuesday, attributed indiscipline in educational institutions to adulteration of cultural values in the country. The situation, he added, has resulted in the decline of educational standards, and corruption of the country's social system. Nana Seinti was addressing students and people at the opening of the Ninth Regional Basic Schools Cultural Festival at Kintampo under the theme "Culture, the bed rock of discipline in our society".

He said education instils self-determination and creativity in students and lead to the transformation of society through had work. The Regional Minister appealed to parents and stakeholders in education to support the war against indiscipline by reintroducing proper upbringing of children.

He urged teachers to ensure that curricula in institutions reflect the cultural values of the society.

Mrs. Akua Debrah, Regional Director of Education said the study of culture studies in schools and colleges enrich the educational contents for students.

There was choral music, poetry recital and dance and drama competition among the schools.
