As part of effort towards promoting domestic tourism, the Bosomtwe District Assembly together with the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Multi-Media Group would treat holiday makers to thrilling and showpiece performances at the Abono Lake Resort on Monday, July 2.
There would be horse-racing, swimming, bounce castle, face painting and dancing competitions.
The competitors would come from communities dotted along the Bosomtwe Lake including Obbo, Abaase, Abono, Anyinatiase and Adwafo.
Renowned Ghanaian musician Daasebre Dwamena and other celebrated artists would also be on hand to provide live music.
Miss Felicia Dapaah, the District Coordinating Director, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that there would be special awards for winners of the competitions from Glo Moblie Ghana Limited.
To help efficiently manage the anticipated huge vehicular traffic, they have arranged for what she termed a “park and ride system” under which all commuters would leave their cars at Kuntanase and join buses to the lake.
They would pick and drive away their cars after the event.
She said adequate security arrangements would be in place to assure the revelers of their safety.
Apart from Police and other security officers, there would also be life guards to prevent anybody from drowning in the lake.
Miss Dapaah urged the people to develop interest in local tourism since that could significantly reduce stress and other related conditions.**
