South African gospel singer and pastor, Benjamin Dube storms Accra on Wednesday April 20, to take part in ‘Harvest Praise 2011’, slated for Good Friday April 22.
A statement to the Ghana News Agency on Saturday confirmed that Rev Dube is expected to put up a splendid performance of his best cover songs, which include, “Ngiyakuthanda Moy,” “Ongcwele,” “Thum,” “Imvuselelo Kimi Nkosi,” “When I Think About Jesus and Holy Spirit”.
According to the statement, issued by Harvest Chapel International, organizers of Harvest Praise 2011, described Rev Dube as a Gospel legend of Africa, anointed songwriter and singer, music producer, mentor, father and pastor to many musicians and an inspiration to secular artistes in South Africa.
He has 15 albums under his belt and has won numerous awards.
Other singers billed for the Good Friday Gospel bash include Evergreen Harvest Gospel Choir of Harvest Chapel International; Cecilia Marfo credited with 8 albums and the Daughters of Glorious Jesus.
As a side attraction, the illustrious Harvest Theatre group is also expected to entertain the audience with charismatic chorographic performances to showcase West African Gospel Music drama to their South African counterparts.
