Reports reaching BEATWAVES indicate that Rush Energy Drink has taken over the title sponsorship of Africa’s biggest DJ festival, the Ghana DJ Awards, and has promised to make it a more vibrant awards scheme.

Sources close to the organisers indicate that Rush Energy has a very juicy package for the Ghana DJ Awards, adding that the entire event will be overhauled to ensure a very improved awards scheme.

The new partnership gives Rush Energy Drink the exclusive partnership rights to the event and all activities associated with it.

The Ghana DJ Awards which is now known as Rush Ghana DJ Awards is being organised to celebrate DJs in Ghana who have chalked successes in their chosen career.

The sponsorship deal will include having Rush Energy participate in the Ghana DJ Awards Pub Invasion events nationwide and packages for selected award categories winners at the 2017 Ghana DJ Awards.

Rush Energy will have their company logo on all Ghana DJ Awards promotional material.

At a brief ceremony held last Friday, Brenda Obenewaa Asamani, a marketing supervisor at Twellium Industries, producers of Rush Energy, said, “We at Twellium Industrial Company believe in the Ghanaian entertainment industry. We believe DJs have contributed immensely to the development of the entertainment industry and we see the Ghana DJ Awards as the best platform to appreciate them.”

The Ghana DJ Awards is produced by Merqury Republic. Ghana’s DJ advocate and founder of the Ghana DJ Awards, Merqury Quaye, told the press, “We have all been witnesses to the growth of the Ghana DJ Awards and its positive impact on the entertainment industry for the past five years.

We are excited to begin this partnership with Rush Energy who has demonstrated their commitment to the growth of the entertainment industry through many initiatives.”

The organisers of the Ghana DJ awards have set Friday, March 24, 2017 as the date for the highly-anticipated launch and nominees’ announcement of the 2017 edition of the awards under the theme ‘United By Music’.
