Salesman, 24, wins Goodlife Campaign game show

Accra, Sept. 10, GNA - Mr Daniel Paa Kwesi Ankomah, a 24-year-old Sales Personnel at Koko King breakfast packaging company, has won the Good Life Game Show on Viasat 1 television station.

He took home GHc5,000 and other consolation prizes. The show is part of the broader 93Goodlife Live it well" campaign implemented by USAID and supported as part of its Behaviour Change Support (BCS) project in collaboration with Ghana Health Service.

A statement copied to GNA in Accra on Friday said the final episode marked the end of the 13-week season show.

The Goodlife campaign, introduced in November last year, emphasised the need to practice healthy lifestyles to enjoy life to the fullest.

The campaign linked personal happiness to the practice of healthy behaviours and underscored the need to avoid preventable diseases in order to enjoy life to the fullest.

Designed to entertain, inform and educate, the show consisted of a unique blend of trivial, multimedia, and health quizzes to push the concepts of quality lifestyle, health and wellness to Ghanaians.

Five contestants were selected each week to compete on the show and viewers at home were able to participate by answering specific health related questions through the Goodlife short code. (1759)

"The overall purpose of the BCS project is to assist GHS at the national, regional and district levels to support efforts to achieve health related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through sustained and coherent social and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) interventions."

The project operates on many levels blending community, interpersonal, and mass media approaches in an effort to encourage behavioural change and healthy lifestyles.

The Acting Director of Ghana Health Service, Dr Frank Nyonator, presented the prize to Mr Ankomah.

Dr Laurel Fain, Chief Health Officer for USAID Ghana presented the second prize of GHc2,000 to Mr Jamal Futal followed by Mr Gideon Ebo Sackey and Ms Belinda Cudjoe who had GHc1,000 each.

Due to its success, a second season is expected soon.
