Dr. Cann on Happy FM this past Wednesday made an effort to set the Dancehall history straight.

He explained that Samini began with reggae whiles Shatta Wale with Hiplife.

The show was aimed at crediting everyone along the timeline who needed to be recognized for their contribution while those who deserved their mentions got their honorable mentions.

Mr Logic detailing his contribution to the genre told Showbiz Xtra;

"I'm the reason Samini got to record his album with Nana King. I went to the studio one day and Nana King told me, he wanted me to listen to Samini's song and let him know if he was good so he will record him.

Because I had a Ragga album out which was strictly Patois. He was doing Twi Ragga. When he played Samini's record for me the first time, I told him Samini had a great future. So put him out and that is how Samini put out his "Linda" album with Nana King.

Sonni Balli introduced him to Nana King but I had to do that approval. If I had said no, then Nana King wouldn't have put him out.

I had to approve his songs before we recorded him. Nana King told me 'I understand he stays at Exibition, should we record him?'.

I answered, he was good and so he should be recorded. He was doing Twi ragga then. I have always been selfless."

Talking about the Dancahall King singer Shatta Wale; Logic who is currently shaping the careers of Vybrant Faya and AK Songstress stated;

"When you come to this current generation. Bandana was a Hiplife artist. His Bandana from Ghana doesn't have any dancehall on it.

He later diverted to Dancehall. No one was even playing his records. People had different idea of Dancehall back then", he narrated.
