Sandra Oduro With the release of her second album, the gospel rap songstress, Sandra Oduro has proven to her numerous fans that indeed she has come to stay.
Apart from her maiden album that shot her into instant stardom, Sandra is making strong impact on the gospel scene with her second album titled Onyame Nsesa Da. No wonder she is from Kumasi where most of the renowned musicians churn from.
The eight-track album which was jointly written and arranged by Sandra and Nana Boateng borders on every day life experiences in the believers walk with God, the challenges and the benefits.
The songs are receiving so much airplay and chances are that, many people can sing all the eight songs on the album. It is even interesting when you see children running around and singing the choruses of the songs.
The album opens with a praise song that quickly gets the listener onto the dance floor to shake off the shackles of the enemy, the devil. Onyame Nsesa Da, the first song on the album which happens to be the title track expresses the never- changing nature of God very powerfully.
Obehwe Ne Mma (He will provide for his childred) is another praise song which assures the belief of God's providence, both spiritually and materially, no matter the circumstances and storms of life. This is a piece that has a very good sound arrangement and an impressive backing.
With Sesa Hyebre (Change my destiny), Sandra is imploring the Lord to change her failures into success and I believe that is your prayer too.
Onsei Mmere, a reggae piece, is a must-hear-song. The Lord delays but He does not waste time, He might be preparing you for something great, who knows.
When you ask God for a house, he would want to give you a mansion and that accounts for the delay, so wait for His time. That is a relief. Isn't it? These are the encouraging words of Sandra to the listener.
Indeed, Sandra has every cause to appreciate God. In Mewo Aseda Kese (I have a big thank you), Sandra is thanking the Lord for all the benefits including the gift of song ministration.
Other wonderful songs on the album are Aseda Nwom, Mogya Bi Adi Amame and Ne Din Ne Jesus.
Even though the songs on the album are in praise reggae and high-life vein, Sandra did not forget her usual rap.
Instrument and programming of the songs are superb. There is no doubt that Sandra is a great songtress.
