Ghana’s fastest rapper alive and ace performer Sarkodie has officially been confirmed to perform at the 2014 edition of ‘The Big Weekend Afro-Beats Festival’—a three-day beer, music and dance festival scheduled for December 12, 13 and 14 at the Independence Square in Accra.
Sarkodie is the latest addition to the ever growing list of top performers lined-up for the three-day event, which surprisingly is selling its tickets at a giveaway GH¢10 for all three nights.
The Big Weekend Afro-Beats Festival has American singer, songwriter, rapper, producer and actress Ms Lauryn Hill as headline artiste and would have performances from some of Ghana’s finest musicians, including Stonebwoy, Efya, E.L, Okyeame Kwame, Mzvee, Joey B, Chase, Lil Shaker, Jay-So, Kumasi Kojo-Cue, Treasure, AI, Dex Kwasi and several others.
Other big names in the music industry who would be performing at the event would be announced soon.
“Ms Hill would be in Ghana with her crew that is close to some 20 people; and we could not have thought of any other person than her. She has had a very good year and her tours have been fascinating,” Alvin Bekoe, Chief Executive of BBnZ, confirmed at the media launch of the event at the Movenpick Hotel a fortnight ago.
The event is put together by multi-purpose events company and record label BBnZ Live, with Accra Breweries Limited (ABL) as headline sponsor.
