Well known and well loved Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, is celebrating his 29th birthday today, July 10th, 2017 as he sits at the top tier of the local music industry.
A veteran of the Ghanaian music industry, Sarkodie "blew up" into the local music scene in 2009 and has since gone on to feature US rapper Ace Hood, and new Nigerian singing sensation Patoranking.
In a post shared on July 9th, 2017, a few hours to midnight on his official Instagram profile, Sarkodie captions a photo of himself with the words, "Thanking God for Life," suggesting that the rapper is thankful to see another year.
Sarkodie is the first Ghanaian artist to have won the Black Entertainment Television's (BET) Best International Act Africa, doing so in the year 2012. His BET let Ghanaian artist know that a BET award could be possible given that they worked hard in better then music, paving the way for the likes of Stonebwoy and others.
