Sarkodie is the best thing ever happened to Hiplife - Obrafour

Ever since Reggie Rockstone initiated a new genre of music and labeled it as Hiplife, many artistes have passed through the Ghanaian musical style which fuses highlife and hip hop to exhibit their talent.

Whilst some artistes came into the scene with one day hit wonder, others have been consistent releasing hits after hits sweeping almost all the awards in the country.

One artiste who for the short time in the music industry has proved all sceptics wrong is BET award-winner Michael Kwesi Owusu Addo whose stage name is Sarkodie.

Sarkodie has won numerous awards with hit songs like ‘Azonto Fiesta’, ‘Illuminati’, ‘U Go Kill Me’ ‘Saaa Okodie No’ ‘I’m in love with you’ and others.

Legendary rapper Kwabena Okyere Darko a.k.a Obrafour has stated that Sarkodie is the best thing ever happened to hiplife music. He said this in an interview with Bra Chef on Radio Univers 105.7.

“To me and it could be argumentative but in my opinion, Sarkodie is the best thing ever happened to hiplife as at now - this generation of musicians or Hiplifers, he is the best thing ever happened to hiplife” he stressed.

“The guy has done tremendously well since he started professional music. The good news is that Sarkodie for a short period by God’s grace has reached where we wanted hiplife to appear and I believe that he has a lot in him to deliver if he will take his time. I’m very happy hiplife has had someone like him to continue the good job we started.” he added.

The ‘Paa Mu Ka’ hitmaker further urged Ghanaians including musicians to support Sarkodie in his career for he has a lot to offer.

“I’m asking all Ghanaians including musicians to support him because if there is any glory, it’s for the whole country but not to him alone.”
