Sarkodie won’t be missing in 2016 VGMA

Sarkodie Sarkodie

There are a number of Ghanaian bloggers or entertainment writers who think leading Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo widely known as Sarkodie’s presence won’t be felt in 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Sarkodie in the year under review from 1st January to 31st December, 2015 didn’t have any popular song for him to be qualified to be part of the 17th Edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards but one can confidently say that his efforts were higher than some artistes who had popular songs.

Irrespective of not having a popular song, his collaboration with Ofori Amponsah-Alewa, Pappy Kojo-Aye Late, Wisa-Ekikimi and many others are qualified to be nominated. Besides the collaboration, Sarkodie released the Mary album which also qualifies him to be part of the album of the year including any of the songs he featured on.

Considering the shows he played and the audience appeal he got in the year under review, it qualifies him to be part of the artiste of the year category. So at least Sarkodie will get more than three nominations making him relevant in this year’s Vodafone Ghana music awards.
